Staying at 25Hours Hotel in Vienna, Austria

Odds are that you’re traveling to Vienna for its famous architecture, legendary sweets or beautiful artwork. But while you may have come for the culture, you’ll stay for the circus at the 25Hours Hotel in Vienna, Austria.

Vienna is a posh and incredibly beautiful city. But staying at 25Hours Hotel at the Museum Quarter was like staying at a secret, underground circus that emphasized luxury just as much as it emphasized quirky.

I was traveling solo throughout most of Europe until I reached Vienna where I met up with my brother-in-law. We enjoyed Don Giovanni at the Royal Opera, ate delectable sachertorte and meandered through Vienna itself. Of course, the best part of our stay in Vienna was definitely the 25Hours Hotel located in the Museum Quarter.

The Property

The 25Hours Hotel at the Museum Quarter is a trendy, quirky and exhilarating experience. The newest property of the 25hours chain brings a little life into the traditional Vienna, with the phrase “We’re All Mad Here” ablaze.

As an homage to the city’s legendary history of performances from the museum district to the Prater, the Opera Ball, the Life Ball and the city’s many music venues. Walk into the lobby and you’ll not only find a show, but a locally-sourced gift shop, relaxing lounge area and photo booth.

The hotel’s exotic, trendy and playful theme isn’t the only thing it brings to the table. In addition to the thrilling design, there are 217 rooms (34 of which contain kitchenettes), a rooftop bar and terrace, the mermaid cave sauna, an iMac workstation, and one of the city’s hottest dining spots!

The Amenities

25Hours Hotel at the Museum Quarter has a variety of rooms for any type of traveler. Whether you’re looking for a small room to fit your budget or desire a home away from home, you can expect just that at 25Hours Hotel.

Each room differs with its individual amenities however all guests have access to wifi throughout the property, fitness center and the iMac business corner.

But each room contains a comfortable king bed or double beds, desk, bathroom and view. You can also expect:

  • Stellar view of the courtyard or bustling cityscape
  • Air conditioning

Things to Do

25Hours Hotel at the Museum Quarter is like staying at your rich friend’s trendy house party. There’s so much to do and experience at the hotel, you’ll have trouble leaving the place!

If the night is calling you, you’ll be happy to know you’re sleeping at one of Vienna’s hottest epicenters for trendy nightlife. Below the hotel is the 1500 foodmakers restaurant, rated as one of Vienna’s best restaurants and breakfast buffets. I saw several business people start their day with the hearty breakfast and young socialites end their day with a fancy aperitif in the evening.

Above the hotel is the der dachboden, an outdoor/indoor terrace where you can drink, chat and enjoy the view from above. If you’re looking for one of the best lounges in the city, this is where both tourists and locals go!

Due to my mysterious illness in Budapest, I was unable to completely enjoy the city like I had wanted. Instead I slept in my billowy and comfy bed. However, being in the Museum Quarter means your are steps away from famous museums, landmarks and attractions like MUMOK, the Leopold Museum, Kunsthalle Wien and Architekturzentrum Wien. The best way to see these sites? With one of the complimentary, hotel bicycles!

After an arduous day touring the city, you’ll need some R&R at the Mermaid Cave sauna. And if you didn’t happen to walk enough, you can still get your fitness in with the hotel’s well equipped workout area.

The Staff

My incredible stay didn’t begin when I laid down on the bed or ate dinner. It started the minute I walked into the friendly hotel.

The front desk staff was super friendly and could tell I was exhausted (especially since I was still very sick). Every single one of them had a smile on their face and helped carry my super-heavy bag to my room.

But it was the restaurant staff that I was incredibly impressed with! I dined at 1500 foodmakers restaurant a total of 3 times and each experience was greeted with a new, friendly face. Every member of the staff was very accommodating, kind and excited for us to experience their hotel.

And something else happened. I had actually left the hotel door wide open (of course I did, right?). This means it was wide open for about 4 hours. My brother-in-law and I walked in to find everything perfectly safe and sound. Even without a locker in the bedroom, you can trust your belongings will be in safe hands at 25Hours Hotel at the Museum Quarter.

If you’re not feeling the nightlife or ornate lobby, take pleasure in knowing that you can enjoy the peace and privacy of your room with the most attentive staff in Vienna.

  1. Lovely. Happy to read this review. I am considering staying here and I wanted to check if taking a Panoramic Suite is worth the view and decor. I plan to be there for about 4 nights in Dec. Is it close to the station for me to board a train thereafter to Salzburg & do they help if I want an airport transfer. Sorry tons of Qs.

    1. I wasn’t able to check out the Panoramic Suite, but the regular rooms were quite small! The balcony on the corner was actually AMAZING so that was nice at night. I remember it took be about 20 minutes to reach the station HOWEVER, there was INSANE traffic. I believe it was only supposed to be 5-10 minutes by cab. I hope you enjoy your stay, you’re going to LOVE the lobby, the breakfast and the rad bar upstairs!
