Meet Clumsy Traveler Christine, of Tour de Lust

My latest series follows some of my favorite bloggers and their clumsiest moments. If you want to learn a little bit more of about these bloggers and hear their craziest stories abroad, stay tuned every Wednesday to meet some graceless wanderers! This week, meet clumsy traveler Christine of Tour de Lust!

Christine and I met exactly like my other friends, Paloma and Ada: on Instagram. The only difference? We actually ended up meeting in real life!

Both of us are also part of a Facebook Group dedicated to travel bloggers and we found out that we would both be attending the RiSE Festival in the Moapa Valley.

This girl has a keen eye. Don’t believe me? Check out her insta.

So of course, it wasn’t hard for Christine to spot me out of the RiSE crowd, despite the fact that we had never met!

SEBRIN!” she yelled. Literally 5 feet away from me.

Even in my wannabe hipster garb (that I don’t normally find myself in), Christine was able to recognize me and we started to talk all giddy about the event and our having met.

We may have only chatted for about 5-10 minutes, but I CANNOT wait to see this girl again! Hopefully, in a foreign location.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog!

I’m a part time travel & lifestyle blogger for Tour de Lust. I’m currently based in San Francisco but lived in New York for three years and really call that my home!

I love everything about New York and hope to be back soon. Los Angeles is also my home as I spent 26 years of my life there. I love traveling the world and constantly have a case of wanderlust, mostly from my travels as a kid with family every summer.

My blog focuses on city guides and food guides where I enjoy sharing my experiences and travel tips.

2. How did you get into blogging?

While living in New York, I was documenting my life through Instagram mostly with my travel and food since I love food!

My friends and family loved all my photos of what I was doing and eating. For three years, everyone kept asking me to start my blog but I didn’t think anyone would read it. As I started following travel bloggers, I began having inspiration and decided to take the plunge and started my blog in April 2016 and never looked back!

My only wish is that I started when they told me to!

3. How long have you been traveling? What’s your favorite destination?

I have been traveling as an adult since I was 22. After graduating and finding a job it allowed me to make money to travel!

My favorite destination is and has always been Italy! There is so much history and so many things to do! I hope to return next spring to visit the Almalfi Coast which has been on my bucket list for a while now.

4. So, what’s your clumsiest, craziest or most bizarre travel story?

It was the summer of 2013 when I went on my first trip with my current boyfriend. We were getting serious at this time and decided to take a long weekend trip to Washington D.C. Of course this weekend turned out to be a heat wave but that’s another story.

When we arrived to our hotel we ended up at the wrong one! Oops my fault….clumsy me didn’t check our hotel address. No big deal. We get our luggage and hop into a new taxi.

When we arrived at our correct hotel, my luggage was missing!! Did it fall out? How is my boyfriends’ luggage in the trunk and not mine? I was panicking since this is something I never want to lose!

We immediately called the previous hotel and luckily it was there! Clumsy me left it on the sidewalk and never put it in the taxi. Great way to start our first vacation together. He must have thought I was an idiot… or just really clumsy 🙂
