Staying at L’Auberge de Sedona in Sedona, Arizona

Sedona is a natural home to vortexes, spiritual journeys and romantic retreats for couples of all ages. The minute you arrive here, you can immediately feel the good vibrations. And staying at L’Auberge de Sedona makes this incredible experience that much more luxurious.

I fell in love with Sedona last year during my 5-day road trip to the Grand Canyon with my husband. I knew I wanted to go back, but I knew there was only one other place that could top my experience: staying at L’Auberge de Sedona!

Property

Locals and tourists alike are privy to the incredible reputation of L’Auberge de Sedona as a premier getaway of ultimate tranquility. This award-winning property includes 11 acres of creek-adjacent cottages and lodge rooms, award-winning restaurants, a pool and jacuzzi, fitness center, spa and legendary apothecary.

Cottages locations include Creekside, Spa, Vista, Garden as well as lodges that offer a fantastic view. Larger parties, or guests who enjoy the finer things, can check into The Creekhouse. 3 or 5-bedroom suites are available here along with a creekside deck, downstairs bar and lounge area, an expansive dining table, and a living area with an 85-inch television and state-of-the-art sound system and wood-burning fireplace.

As L’Auberge is located in the heart of Sedona, you are surrounded by the property’s creek, the city’s famous red rocks and several shopping areas with local boutiques (with plenty of options to finally get your hands on some magical, healing crystals!).

But one of the amazing things about this property is that no gratuity is required! No need to tip the valets or your hotel maid, the price of your nightly room includes gratuity for the staff (restaurant gratuity not included).

Amenities

We arrived slightly early and wandered the location to get some general vibes. Especially since we would be touring Sedona later that evening. After wandering around, connecting with nature and enjoying the view by the restaurant, it was time to check into our creekside cottage.

Each cottage has a considerable amount of privacy. While the decks are open and spacious, each are still slightly hidden from one another as they are stacked slightly uneven.

Inside was a beautiful studio cottage with a large bed, television and area to sit and chill out. But my favorite part has to be the outdoor shower! On the opposite side of the bathroom (and next to our large, luxurious tub) was a shower to a private, outdoor shower made of cedar wood. Imagine a breath of fresh air and the scent of real pine as you wash you hair and body!

In addition to these amazing perks, we found these amenities in our cottage:

  • Private Deck with Comfortable Seating
  • Complimentary High-Speed Internet*
  • iPod Docking Station*
  • Complimentary Digital Access to New York Times & Financial Times*
  • BeeKind Hair and Skin Products*
  • Deluxe Bathrobes and Slippers*
  • Keurig Coffee Maker with Complimentary Coffee/Tea Selection*
  • Down Bedding and Pillows*
  • Nightly Turndown Service*
  • 65” High Definition 4K Samsung TV*(size varies room to room)
  • Wood-Burning Fireplace
  • Studio Style
  • Mini Bar*
  • In-Room Safe*

Things to Do

Sedona is one of those places you go to to unwind and get in touch with your spiritual side. But whether you meditate atop some vortexes or hike amongst the famous red rocks, you’ll definitely need to relax. And that’s exactly what you’ll be doing at L’Auberge de Sedona.

In addition to the legendary spa (which hosts an array of services like massages, facials and holistic therapy options), L’Auberge also has The L’Apothecary Spa. Create your own blend of herbs, oils and local botanicals to concoct and design your own bath soaks and body scrubs. Mix a seasonal creation or a medicinal blend for whatever ails you!

If you prefer to chill in the sun, relax poolside amongst the trees and wide open sky. You could also enjoy a relaxing seat next to the trickling creek bed, but if you have sweet blood like I do, you might want to avoid this home to Sedona’s mosquitos.

While you can do several activities off site, why not enjoy the hotel’s several events? L’Auberge’s event calendar hosts several activities daily like yoga, forest bathing, stargazing and much more. Be sure to check into these activities at least 15 minutes early as they fill up quite quickly!

Finally, enjoy an award-winning meal at either of the property’s restaurants: Cress on Oak Creek or Etch Kitchen and Bar. Cress offers a romantic, whimsical vibe closer to the creekbed while Etch is located slightly higher (and closer to the bar). Expect amazing food, divine wine pairing and modern plating at both establishments!

The Staff

When I heard that this was an absolutely no-tipping facility, I imagined that the staff would be awful. After all, I worked in the hospitality industry for a long time during my college days. My life relied on tips! If I wasn’t tipped properly, I wouldn’t be able to pay my bills!

But pulling up the valet and seeing their bright, cheerful smiles proved me wrong.

“So, you don’t get tipped, right?” I asked, more inquisitive than anything else.

“Nope,” replied a cheerful valet.

“And you guys are happy with that?”

“Definitely. This place takes great care of us. Now we can focus our efforts on providing great service instead of worrying if we’re going to get tipped or not.” Quite the novel idea, amirite?

But it wasn’t just the valet who was warm and friendly. Room service was chipper and prompt. Our server and bartender were charming and humorous. And we even spoke with the manger who was fun and chatty as if we had known each other for years!

This incredibly luxurious and bourgeois property might be super chic, but the staff treats you like you’re family!
