Every Outfit You’ll Need for the Perfect California Summer

Summer on the West Coast means two thing: lots of ice cream and breezy outfits to beat the summer heat. My West Coast summer lookbook may not have enough of the first part, but there’s plenty of looks to steal for the coming season!

Many travelers retreat to California for some much needed R&R during the summer. What most people don’t know is that Los Angeles is scorching hot. Often uncomfortably so. And while shorts and a crop top can do just that, I personally love breezy, airy clothes that cover up just a bit more.

White Wrap Dress | Blue Smoking Slipper Espadrilles | White Sunglasses

This Tobi wrap dress is the perfect day dress or pool side cover up! While it’s not your average, adjustable wrap, it’s still very airy in the collar offering a very low cut.

I’m also obsessed with my Frenchie Soludos espadrilles. They’re from a few seasons ago but they instantly transport me to Paris!

Black Boater Hat | Guns n Roses Tee | Floral Skirt | Black Booties

I’m not normally a hat-wearing, tee-and-skirt-combo kind of girl. I leave that to the hipsters. But if you’re headed to Abbot Kinney (pictured above), you have to dress the part! This flowy tank and skirt combo was just right for the hot yet windy day we had. And the hat obviously made me blend in.

Full of interesting shops, overpriced salads and vegan ice cream you’re gonna want to bring your wallet too.

‘Beer Me’ Tank | Distressed Jeans | White Sneakers

So I may not be as fit as Dwayne Johnson or Pamela Anderson, but I can still pretend to be a Baywatcher!

I’m currently obsessed with these jeans from Band of Gypsies! The distressed look on towards the side of the pants make them that much more unique. Plus the pop of red in this blue and white mix is giving me serious 4th of July vibes.

Pale Pink Floral Dress | Pearl Drop Necklace | Nude Sandals

Florals may be for Springtime, but not in LA. Where gypsies, vagabonds and boho babes are dressed in florals all year round, there’s never a bad time for flowers!

This dress is perfect for the upcoming hot weather and I’m all about nude shoes at the moment. This particular necklace, BTW, was my wedding present from my husband! I wear with with just about everything!

Off-The-Shoulder Dress | Gladiator Sandals

A few weeks ago I decided to go on a wild west journey past Las Vegas to the offbeat Valley of Fire. I didn’t quite realize it was going to be such a trek, so naturally I dressed up for the occasion.

On the one hand, I was glad I had a breezy dress for the 100+ degree weather. On the other hand, I wish I had more appropriate shoes before I climbed this huge rock!
