2015 St. Patrick’s Day Event Guide in Los Angeles

Erin Go Bragh, dear readers!

Sometimes I don’t know what to make of St. Patrick’s Day.

On the one hand, I love a good party, especially when the weather starts to get a bit warmer. On the other hand, I can’t help but feel that this beer-chugging, shamrock shaking holiday brings out the serious frat boys and drinkers, making this holiday get a bit out of control.

Since my New Year’s resolution is to get more involved in community events (and I love the color green), screw it. St. Paddy’s celebrations all day!

If you’re looking for something to do in Los Angeles this year, you are covered with this St. Patrick’s Day Event Guide. If you see an **, you just might see me there!

Festivals:

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Pershing Square – This event is family friendly! Starting with a parade at 10:30 am, this celebration has an homage to the Irish all afternoon. Make sure to check out the beer garden before 3:00 pm!

Casey’s St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival** – This is a big one! This 42nd annual block party features some of the best bars in town, multiple restaurant deals and live music from 6:00 am-2:00 am. It’s definitely one of the holiday highlights in Los Angeles, so be sure to wear your best green garb to celebrate.

Shamrock ‘n Roll at the Queen Mary – In true QM fashion, this tourist attraction is doing what they do best: a kick ass party on their haunted boat. In addition to the bands, foods, and drink, there is a trivia contest as well!

Bars:

The Bungalow** – If you like the beach, a young, chic crowd, and green margs, then this is your spot! Think of the Bungalow like your best friend’s beach house in the Hamptons, with Abercrombie decor and specialty cocktails. In honor of the Irish, the Bungalow is busting out green drinks, cookies, and corned beef and cabbage from 5:00 pm-2:00 am. Get there early to beat the crowds (which there definitely will be)!

The Pikey – The foodie bar spot of the night! With corned beef, pudding, dumplings, colcannon, and lamb, the food coma will be of epic proportions.

Molly Malone’s – My fiance and I are big fans of Molly Malone’s, since our good friends, Better Off Blonde, perform there on the regular. In addition to many live performances, check out the bagpipes at noon!

20 Hour St. Paddy’s Day Marathon at Tom Bergin’s** – This. Party. Is. Epic. Starting with Irish breakfast at 6:00 am-11:00 am, the party goes on for 20 hours of specialty priced beer, a special Rogue brew, a Guinness truck and a live band. No cover, so you know I’m there! #causebergins

Angel City Brewery St. Patrick’s Day Tacos & Trivia – This place is all about authentic, beer celebration. Instead of green beer, come here for an interesting red beer on tap, trivia night and tasty corned beef tacos! Trivia starts at 7:00 pm sharp!
